Biography
Patrick Ruckman is a Chicago-based guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with over twenty years of performance experience. Currently serving as the house guitarist for the Moraine Valley Jazz Ensemble, Patrick’s work is defined by a deep commitment to the jazz tradition and a technical proficiency in modern music technology.
Patrick’s musical foundation was built through the disciplined lineage of the Southwest Suburban Chicago music community, eventually leading him to study Music Performance at UIC. There, he immersed himself in the technical and theoretical rigors of the instrument that define his playing today.
Beyond musical performance, Patrick holds a degree in Psychology and is a certified Software Developer — a unique combination that informs his "systems-based" approach to the studio. This background gives him a rare proficiency with music technology and signal architecture, allowing him to bridge the gap between traditional musicianship and modern production workflows.
Patrick is currently focusing on high-level collaboration and developing the next generation of players. He is accepting guitar students and providing guidance for musicians looking to leverage technology for their craft. His mission is to strengthen the Chicago creative community through discipline, education, and forward-thinking partnership.
