Frequently Asked Questions

How long are lessons?

Standard lessons are 30 minutes; longer sessions and bulk lesson packages are available by request, with details based on your goals and schedule discussed directly with me.

What are your rates?

My base rate is $40 per 30-minute lesson. If you'd like longer sessions, we can set that up based on availability.

Are you open to students with no experience?

Yes! I work with complete beginners of all ages. We'll start at your level and progress at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What should parents know before booking lessons?

Lessons are held in-person at my private home studio (condo). For younger students or anyone who prefers a common area, lessons will be held at the kitchen table.

Can parents stay during lessons?

Yes. One parent or guardian is welcome to stay during lessons. Due to limited studio space and shared living arrangements, I ask that attendance be limited to one parent/guardian.

How do I know if I'm ready for lessons?

Everyone is ready! If you're not sure where to start, feel stuck in your playing, or have a specific goal you want to reach, lessons can give you a focused next step. If you have questions about your personal situation, please reach out using the "Get in Touch" form on the Contact page, and I’ll help you decide the best direction.

Do you teach only jazz?

While jazz is my foundation, I teach a wide range of styles including blues, fusion, classic rock, and modern music. We'll focus on what interests you most.

Do you teach music production in all DAWs?

Production lessons are primarily Ableton Live-focused, where I can offer the deepest guidance. If you use another DAW, I can still help you get started and build solid fundamentals in recording, editing, and workflow.
